New capabilities:
- The standard Glossary can define unknown decision variables similarly to the known variables but specifying their possible values in the “Domain” column.
- Unknown (constrained) variables can participate in FEEL-like expressions with all arithmetic and logical operators placed directly in decision table cells.
- Predefined functions such as “Sum”, “Min/Max”, “AllDifferent“, can be used inside decision tables to define new expressions and constraints.
- Predefined functions such as “Activity”, “Resource”, ”ActivityPrecedence”, ”ActivityRequiresResource” can be used inside decision tables to represent and solve scheduling and resource allocation problems.
- Predefined search methods like SolverFindSolution, SolverMinimize, or SolverMaximize.
The extended expression language remains oriented to businesspeople. This approach has a dual effect: it extends the capabilities of traditional rule-based systems and makes optimization solvers more business-friendly.
You may check out many examples, simple and more complex, that illustrate the new capabilities.
Other Improvements:
- OpenRules IDE was migrated to the latest Angular.
- Fixed small issues from old releases.
