How licensing works
Development by seat. Runtime by instance.
Development licenses. One Development license authorizes one named person to install OpenRules Decision Manager. Each installation requires a separate license. The authorized user can create and test decision models locally, then deploy them as decision services in the cloud or on-premises.
Runtime licenses. Every running instance of a deployed decision service requires one Runtime license, whether it runs in the cloud or on-premises. Parallel instances each require a separate license. For example, a service with an AWS Lambda concurrency limit of five requires five Runtime licenses at that location.
Active subscriptions provide access to OpenRules software and new releases for Windows, Linux, and Mac. After payment, OpenRules sends personalized download and installation instructions.
Terms & purchasing
Use a card, PayPal, or purchase order.
Subscription term and renewal. Customers must maintain active Development and Runtime licenses. The license period begins one day after OpenRules receives payment and renews automatically at the end of the period unless either party gives notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the period ends.
Purchase orders. Email a purchase order to licensing@openrules.com with the authorized user’s name and email address, the required number of Development and Runtime licenses, and the payment type and amount. OpenRules will issue an invoice with bank details; personalized download instructions follow payment.
